Meet our newest pattern release: Edena’s Star Block! This is a big 20″ square block pattern that can be made into a wall hanging or you can make multiple blocks and make a quilt. The Best Big Quilt Block
Some of my favorite quilt blocks are the ones that allow me to showcase gorgeous fabrics. Edena’s Star Block is great for highlighting some of your favorite features of fabrics. Like the fun animals that are woven through Mindscape floral designs.
I decided to do an ombre version with the fabrics in Mindscape for this version of the Edena’s Star Block. I started with the light blue in the outer corners and then worked my way to the deeper blues. The Block was bound using the striped fabric in the collection and backed with the same striped fabric. I also used the grey-beige low volume in the collection for the background and I think it turned out amazing! I can just imagine a whole quilt of these blocks…
Quilting the Mindscapes Version of the Edena's Star Block
When I was thinking about quilting my Art Gallery Fabrics Mindscape Edena’s Star block I originally wanted to try some free motion quilting. However, I really wanted to showcase the fabrics, so I decided that a simple and timeless quilting design would best highlight the gorgeous designs by Katarina in her Mindscape collection. I also selected a champagne colored thread that blended just beautifully into the block.

Katarina Roccella really made a gorgeous collection! Mindscapes has some gorgeous tones in the collection, from mauve to deepest gray and steely blue it’s just a dreamy collection. Be sure to grab some from your local quilt shop or favorite online fabric store to make your own Edena’s Quilt Block!
