About Katherine

Meet the creator, Katherine…

I grew up with a mom and two grandmothers who loved to create with their sewing machines. My mother grew up sewing her own prom dresses and creating her own clothing, even creating matching outfit sets for her and I when I was a young child. My grandmother, Mildred, loved sewing, creating quilts and stuffed bears for her children and grandchildren in her younger years. My other grandmother, Edena, loved cross stitching and created numerous pieces that hung in my childhood home growing up.

You’d probably guess that my love for sewing and quilting evolved from a young age (and boy did my mother try to get me to love it) but I  just didn’t take to sewing, let a lone quilting. I was more of an artist as a child, drawn to crayons and paint, even creating a business in my later years of college to paint and sell sorority themed canvases and big and little paddles.

It wasn’t until December 2019 that I really tapped into my creative sewing side. I decided to breakout my grandmother Mildred’s hammy-down sewing machine and make some coffee koozies, similar to the cardboard ones at Starbucks only out of fabric. I made one and decided I didn’t want to make any more, but I still had all of this extra fabric, so naturally, I decided to just “make a quilt.” I was home alone and needed something to keep me busy while my husband was deployed and since I had spare fabric, my quilting adventure began!

After creating my first quilt I kept going and now I make a quilt almost every month, with a pattern coming out every few months!

I was born and raised in Austin, Texas and currently live in Georgia with my husband and two huskies, Rocco and Koda. I work full time for the County we live in, but this business is my passion and I plan to grow it into a quilty empire!
